About Saints Outreach

Saints Outreach is an initiative by a group of students from Saint Andrew's Junior College supported by seed funding from Citibank-YMCA Youth For Causes project, which provides a platform for potential social entrepreneurs to champion for the social cause of their choice. For more information about Youth For Causes, you may go to www.youthforcauses.com.

Saints Outreach has chosen to work with Christian Outreach to the Handicapped (COH) by assisting them in creating awareness of persons with intellectual disabilities, the issues and obstacles faced by them in their daily life. We also aim to raise funds for COH to meet the needs and improve the quality of life of this group of special people.

About Christian Outreach to the Handicapped (COH)

Christian Outreach to the Handicapped (COH) was established in 1979 and registered as a charity since 1987. For 30 years, COH has been a Canopy Of Hope by striving to be outstanding in providing acceptance and hope for people with special needs in Singapore through God’s love.

COH reaches out to those with an intellectual disability (IQ below 70) who are between 16 and 55 years old regardless of race, religion and financial background. Many of the people we serve also have other conditions such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, speech impairment, hearing impairment, physical disability, epileptic fits, etc.

COH runs Emmanuel Activity Centres in two locations – Tampines and Toa Payoh, to promote a more fulfilling life for persons with disabilities through achieving the following outcomes:
• Integration into society
• Development of functional skills for greater independence in different aspects of life
